The Youth Are Our Future

Running from September to May, Leadership Lawton Fort Sill's junior class allows high school juniors to connect with peers, learn more about the world around them and help better their community. Our mission is to promote growth in youth that will better serve our community by facilitating issue-oriented forums combined with leadership skills and providing information and guidance to future leaders.

7 key components of our course

The junior LLFS class consists of seven major sections. These are:

Orientation / Retreat

we'll get to know each other and talk about personal challenges and strengths, pushing others to be successful.

City Government Day

this day is dedicated to educating our youth about what it takes to run a city, issues that we face as a community and how our city leaders address those issues

Mentorship / Human Services Day

students will hear about the journey of leadership from mentors in the Lawton Fort Sill community and learn about services provided to those in need

Education Day

this day centers around educational and leadership opportunities to prepare our community to address issues in southwest Oklahoma

MLK Day of Service

we'll work together to complete a hands-on service project in the community

State Capitol Day

students will learn about issues at a state level.

Graduation

upon graduation, alumni will enter their community ready to be leaders who make positive change
